How to MIG Weld a Butterfly Plant Holder [Guide]


Follow step-by-step instructions on how to create a butterfly plant holder using the Airforce® 40i plasma cutter and Handler® 210MVP™ MIG welder. 

Tools and Materials Needed:

  • 1- 4' x 5' x1/8" mild steel sheet
  • 1- 1' x 2' x3/16" mild steel sheet

Steps:

Cut templates out of cardboard and trace with the paint marker onto the steel sheet.

Plasma cut the wings.
step 3 butterfly plant holder
Plasma cut the seat.
step 4 butterfly plant holder
Tack weld the inside of the wings to the body. 
step 5 butterfly plant holder
Bend the wings to the desired angle.

Tack weld the outside of wings to the body. 
step 7 butterfly plant holder
Weld the inside of wings to the body.
step 8 butterfly plant holder
Weld the braces to the back of the wings.

Weld the seat to the inside of the wings.
