    Hobart Smoothcut 625

I am looking at a used Hobart Smoothcut 625 to buy that doesn't work at this time. The owner has allowed me to look at it to see if I can make it work. In my inspection of the machine I noticed two electrical connections at the base of the machine. The top connection has the switch for the torch and the bottom connection is empty. The air supply to the torch is connected and functional. When I turn on the air test switch no air comes out of the nozzle unless I loosen the insulator on the torch head slightly then goes off when the switch is turned off so I think the air side is working. My concern is there is no wiring to the torch head to carry current to the tip. Does anyone have any experience with an older Hobart that might be able to help me? I would greatly appreciate it.

    Hobart Smoothcut 625

I was wandering about purchasing consumables for this machine? Are they still available? If not could I upgrade to a different torch that parts and consumables are available?
