Thoughts on Firepower FP260?

So you guys know Im shopping around for a new large MIG welder, my NAPA buddy is able to get me a Firepower 260 for a reasonable price. I have not been able to find much info/user-testimony on Firepower products. Does anyone here have any experience with this particular welder?

http://www.firepoweronline.com/pdfs/...07_83-9907.pdf

The other choices are the Millermatic 251 and the Lincoln Power MIG 255. It will most likely come down to price, whichever I can get the best deal on...

Thanks

Do you go to a welding shop to get a tune up kit for your car?
Buying a welder from Napa is just like doing that!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would think over your relationship with your buddy because I think he is going to stick it to you on that deal!!! Make sure you back in when you go to pay for that great deal.

I'll pass on what my former welder repair dude told me about Firepower. He said that the tools they produce are ok at best. They're aimed at weekenders and people looking for cheaper equipment. I've never tried Firepower's welders, but I had a med. duty torch set from them that I wore out. It worked great untill the regs. started to leak. Lasted about 9 years with almost daily use. Said the regs were made by Victor. Wonder who makes their welders?
That said, I'd go with the MM251 you talked about in another thread. There is alot to be said about Miller's commitment to their end users. Blue has never let me down.
My two cents.
