Older Hobart Parts Availability

Where can I get parts for older Hobart equipment? I have a Beta-Mig LF that is about 1985 vintage that runs great but I am curious where to go if I ever need parts. I would also like to know if there are any compatibilities between the older wirefeeders and any newer equipment? Where can you get feed rolls and guides for a 2410 feeder (any substitutes) and what style gun end do they use? I've seen manuals for sale on the web but no specific parts. Can the new (ITC owned) Hobart still supply these items?

Thanks

I don't recall a spool gun as an option for the Beta-Mig. I have an Airco pull gun that would be easy to connect to the Hobart. I don't worry about spare parts. I haven't needed any yet.I use a Tweco gun so contact tips are no problem.

Thanks for the replies guys, I did a few searches on this forum (should have done that first!) and got a few leads. Maybe someone can confirm but it appears ThermalArc bought out the older wire feed line and I guessing the ThermalArc 2210 and 2410 share the same parts as the original Hobarts and is the gun end a Tweco #4? On the BetaMig supply, I'm still not sure about parts but mine has been very solid all these years and even if something did break its pretty basic inside so I'm pretty confident I can keep it running for anything short of a failed main transformer.

onefunzr2: My LF BetaMig is just a power supply and didn't have the integrated wirefeed, all I've ever run off it was a ProFax spoolgun (AEC 200) welding aluminum. It worked well enough to build several boats and lots of other aluminum odds and ends. I've noticed that AEC still sells and services the same unit I bought 20 years ago. I believe most any manufacturers spoolgun would probably work on your BetaMig with the appropriate interface box providing the correct drive voltage to the gun (24dc for the AEC200).

Do you have a picture of your Beta-Mig? I am curious on how the spool gun is connected. I also have the spot and stitch option.

My manual is dated June 25, 1985. OM-428, model RCI-200, spec # 6331B-1, 6332B-1, 6333B-1. This has been one reliable machine. I recently got it to operate in spray mode with a 95% argon, 5% CO2 mixture.

Don't worry about hijacking me, this is great! I bought mine new but the owners manual parted ways before I even received the unit so I've been flying blind since day one. Despite me being ignorant, its been a great rig with no problems. I managed to build a 21' jet boat plus lots of other projects and repairs over the years. Most all my work has been aluminum spray-arc, mostly 3/64" 5356 off an AEC spool gun but I would like to add another feeder for steel someday. Attached are a few photos, I should also get an original owners manual someday but the $50 web price seems a bit steep.

I probably should check the motor brushes. Mine must have several times 300 hours on it. Weenenb, my manual should be close at least as the main power supply goes if you need any info.

Question

Mike,

Are you at all familiar with Betamig 170? Friend of mine has one for sale for $600--approx. the same as a new 187. But I love those BIG reels of wire---.

spool gun for a betamig 200

If you go to your distributor and order a thermal arc part# 171812 4 to 6 adapter cable that will enable you to put a SP 2001 spoolgun that is still sold today from thermal arc. The SP 2001 has a 6 pin plug to mate to that adapter. Your betamig has a built in control box so all you have to do is buy the adapter and spool gun.
