Tap Modification___No brakee if you hit........

the bottum of a blind hole , or a hard spot .........
there is not much radial load on the first 2 or 3 teeth ....... so by weakening the flutes from behind and carving out the center .........the first teeth to hit the bottom (CNC operation) or a hard spot .....will snap off giving audible warning and leaving the body of the tap intact....

also remove the 60 degree point from taps groung with a male center .....as it will self destruct the very milla-second the point hits the bottom of a hole (CNC operation)

the point though makes a better center-punch than any center punch does .....or a rigid scriber for scribing cutter paths.....save the dull ones from thru hole tapping
