New Grizzly Band Saw

Well after looking for the last few months and trying to see all the saws, I finally ordered the Grizzly Band Saw. Seems like the people I talked too who had one really were satisfied with their Grizzly. so I just thought I'd bite the bullet and try it.

when I get it, what blade do you guys recommend ordering to have on hand? (TPI & bi-metal) and where's the best place to get it.

The Grizzly is $50 more than the Jet, I'm anxious to get it and see how everything looks.

I used the Grizzly Bi Mteal blades on my HF. They were pretty good, but Morse blades from Enco are the same price, so I but them now.

I had an unfortunate mishap while moving my father-in-law's HF 4x6. I lifted the saw up on its wheels to roll it and the head was unsecured, it flipped up and the saw tipped over busting the belt guard into several pieces. Make sure the head is secure or move the wheel to the opposite end of the motor before picking it up to high.

I just bought the HF 4x6 bandsaw. Now I am blade shopping too. I found the Enco website. I will be cutting mild steel exclusively. What would be better the Morse 10tpi or 14tpi or 10-14tpi bi-metal blade?

The number of teeth relate to the thickness of the material. More teeth per inch =thinner material. I use the 14 for everthing, and it does fine....most of my cuts are thick stuff ( 1/4" + up.

My range will be 14 gauge to 1/4 mild steel, and some occaisional thicker round stock like up to 5/8". So 14tpi sounds like it would be better for me. 1/8" thick will be the most often used thickness.

A good general purpose blade for the hobbiest that cuts mild steel and aluminum is a 10 - 14 tpi bi-metal blade. I buy mine from Enco. Your saw probably comes with a 14 tpi blade as most of the 4x6 saws due.
