As far as I know, Firepower is a knock-off Victor Oxy/Acetylene outfit.

Not a knock off per se... Firepower was Victor's economy line for many years. I've been using a Victor Firepower oxyacetylene setup for the last twenty years or so as my light portable set. Since they became part of Thermadyne, they seem to have expanded the name and it's not subsidiary to just Victor anymore.

is it a good brand i can get a mig welder like the lin 135 for like 100 bucks less
