Looking for information on old Hobart welder

I recently acquired an old Hobart welder. I'm trying to determine the model but have been unable to find it on any of the identification tags. I do have the following information: 300 Amps, 40 Volts, Serial Number DW-54024, Specs. 839. The unit was originally powered by a Wisconsin V4 engine. From this information can anybody identify the model. If so, is any technical information still available for it. The welder still works and I'm in the process of reconditioning it. Thanks.

    jbailey,

THis unit was produced in May 1945. There is no "model" number just the spec # 839.
This unit was originally produced as a BELT drive with no motor. You can contact our literature department at 920-735-4356 and provide them the spec number and they will see if there is a manual available.

    Regards,
    Keith
