Where to find info about SA 200

I purchased a Lincoln SA 200 a couple of months ago and would like to find out some information about it. I have searched Lincoln's site and did not find much there. I would like to find out what year it is and whether it has 100% copper windings.

    Model # SA-200-F63
    Code# 7307
    Serial# A-777xxx

Would the year be the first two digits of the serial number? Like 1977?

I have the list that matches serial number to year of manufacture but I won't be able to get to it till later. There are no clues in the code or serial number of older machines that tell the year.
Is the faceplate black or red?
They all have some aluminum after about 1970.
I'll look up your serial number, it would be easier with the whole number instead of ***, and let you know the year when I get a chance.

I went out an looked at it again. The front is difficult to read. It is a aluminum plate with black coloring. Complete serial number looks like A-777080. I need to purchase a new faceplate. I also want to repaint the entire unit. Do you know what product name matches the original color?

    Thanks JTMcCracken, i appreciate it.

With a black faceplate, it's a 70 or later and has some aluminum in it.
That's not the end of the world tho, the flat out slickest cap I've ever seen, bar none, was done by a friend of mine on 36" .500 wall with a 1977 SA-200. He had a1965 (all copper) before the 77, and calls it the best welding machine he ever run.
A lot of works of art have been made with those later model Lincolns.
I'll look up that number when I get to the list.

I mixed the color but I think DuPont has the right one. I have since got the new stickers.

    Nice trailer Sberry27,

I am undecided whether I want to trailer mount my machine or just skid mounted so I can use it on a service truck (don't have a dedicated truck yet). Fork pockets on the skid would be nice also for use on the jobsite.

First off, just want to get the machine looking good. I heard replacement doors are very expensive and I may be better off making my own.

BTW, my faceplate looks like the one on Sberry27's machine

If you ever figure out the date, or just send me a pic, of the front, I can get you a new repro front decal plate for it. As for covers, there is a firm here that makes them, or can truck you down a set of used ones.

I had to fix one of these, it sat around for a quite a while. I rarely use it as I have a couple of other portables. I had trailers, tried a couple of different things and finally got a heavy truck. I hate loading stuff every time I want to go. This one has all its own dediated equipment, grab my wallet, coffee and phone and I am out the door. Lots of guys have seen these before but some may have not.

    I read the wrong column, it's a 1975, not a 74.
