    Arc Cables / Tube bender

Setting up a ranger250 for mobile welding. I want to use 100 foot arc welding cables. What size cable do I use?

I am looking for a device that bends longer pipe or tubing (10-20') into gentle arcs. I saw one used on TV where it had three rollers. The tube went between them, two on one side one on the other. The one roller was tightened as the tube was rolled (Handle on one of the rollers) the more it was tightened the sharper the bend. I have searched the internet for hours and cant find one. Maybe I dont know its real name or maybe it was a one off fab. Wouldnt be hard to build I wouldnt think but it worked slick. Any information is appreciated.

I might want 2 sizes, some number 1 and maybe some 1/0, just depends on the style of welding. With small electrodes, up to 5/32 number 1 would work and be a lot easier to handle. If you were running hard surface all the time or big rods continious then lead size would be more sensitive. I like number 1 as its easy to handle and is plenty. For repair type work it is surely plenty. It costs less too. Number 1 is good for 225A at 200 ft of total circuit length at 100% duty cycle. 5/32 is going to run under 200A and even as fast as you can stick rods in is about 60%

On the cables do you mean 100' total length or 100' each? If 100' total I'd say #2 or #1. If 200' total then #1 or 1/0. Its all going to depend on amps and duty cycle, I'm sure there's a chart somewhere. I have 100' total (50' ground and 50' stinger) on my bobcat 250 and use #2.

Several people here (myself included) have built the roller you speak of, go to the projects forum and search on roller. They are available, I think pro tools makes one, about $1000 I think.

You need to search for "ring and angle roll benders". They have optional tooling for bending tube and pipe. Here is a sample web site.
