I have a Hobart RC-250 mig welder and I need to get a new gun for it. I bought a profax 400-3545-15 hoping I could retrofit it, but I was hopping Hobart or some third party made a conversion kit so I could install it and simply plug in a new gun! Anyone with this problem and with solutions? I would greatly appreciate any and all help!
Tweco makes adapter kits to adapt the back end to almost any wire feeder. You first need to know which back end the original gun had. Expect to pay close to $100 for the adapter depending on which one you need. The nice thing about the adapter is that you can adapt to a Hobart back end which almost everyone makes a gun for.
Of course since its a Hobart it may be a Hobart backend.
Brian,
The adapter required would depend on the actual model of the wire feeder and the type of connector on the back of the Profax gun. What is the model of the wire feeder on the RC250 unit? What type connector did you get on the Profax gun?
The Model No. is 16DA-3915B
Ser. No. is 75-1 23
I hope that helps, as the profax gun is new, I could take it back, if another gun would be easier to adapt to. If there are web site(s) that have this info. that might be helpful also, Thanks for the help.....can't wait to get going again!! Brian
