    Resporater question

I am looking for a PAPR half face piece resporator. I need it to fit under a welding hood. It also must be dual cartrige capable so I can have particlate and organic vapor protection at the same time seeing it will be used for many purposes, such as asbestos handling, welding, cutting, painting to name a few. Any Ideas?

There are a number of choices that are similar. 3M is very popular. The mask I (and many others here) use can be found here.

I did a lot of research and found that the P100 filters (also on the link above) seem to be very popular among welders. This web site has everything you could think of and their prices are reasonable. I have bought from them several times and will again.

Oh, and this mask with the P100 filter fits under my weld hood just fine.

Thanks but I am looking for a Powerd air purifying resperator. I currently own a somewhat similar 3M half face resporater that I use for everything that doesn't require a hood or face shield. However 3M discontinued along with the filters for it so once my supply is gone I am SOL

    Half face PAPR?

Hey Peetmoss, Having been around the environ. business for around 15 years, I cannot recall ever seeing a half-face PAPR. Doesn't mean they aren't there tho. Try checking with all of the regular resp. mfg.;3-M ,North,MSA, Scott, AO Smith, Racal, Wilson,to name the most common. Might try a search on web or even call a local OSHA or EPA office. NIOSH is a govt. agency that tests and approves resoirators for OSHA and such, they could probably tell you of any co. that makes them. NIOSH could also give you alternatives if you can't get PAPR like you are looking for.
Good luck and take care of those lungs, you only get one set.
