Called a Compact Bender, they are all over Ebay and HF also. The HF Bench model number is "44094" and the regular one is "31980". Hope that helps.....When you look it up on HFweb site there should be a related items list on the bottom of the page, the scroller attachment should be listed there. You might also search for scroller or HF scroller on this board and get a better idea of what you are in for.

Here's another view on my quick-change device, suggested by one of the fine folks here.

I have a floor mount HF bender and scroll attachment. At best I would regard it as "fair". If you decide to buy the scroll attachment look very carefully at the cast part of the attachment. It took me about six months of opening every box in the store to find an attachment where the casting was rounded and true. Most had "flats" in the casting that produced some really ugly scrolls. ALSO. If you buy one be sure to reinforce the weld where the handle goes through the casting. I have seen a couple of their handles spin when the spot welds broke loose.
I am really a proponent of HF products. As a result my shop has an Orange Aura (lol) around it, but, the scroll attachment is pretty iffy.
Hossfeld makes an excellent machine.
Yea I read the post that was recently here about the HF scroll and the crappy flat spots it leaves and such. BUT, this is just a idea I have and I may be able to use the flat spots to a possitive, depending on the location of it, for what I am trying to do with the scroll.
Hossfeld is a cadillac....HF is a yugo.![]()

Hey Rocky
Since you now have both, what are the main differences?
Without going into detail, like I did in a previous thread.....the HF scrolls came out twisted and with flat spots, and the SO scroller gave me good repeatability. The handle broke on the HF scroller...it had a chinsey Chi-Com weld on it.Originally posted by Dale42

Rocky, I had seen that post. I was wondering the material differences.... pin fit-up, Flatness of the face.... I don't mean flat spots, but the squareness top to bottom of the contact area.... what's causing the twisting?
I have a bender and plan to get a scroll attachment.
I wouldn't mind shelling out for a good one..... my dilema?
I live in Canada, have contacted a few places here that carry benders, but none have scroll attachments...... so......Add shipping, handling, GST (tax) and duty to this and it makes it much more cost prohibitive.
Can the cheap one be modified easily enough to provide acceptable results?
I just thought since you had both..... that you would know where to jam a little rebar to make this thing a work of art.
I had to drill the pin hole oversize and used the drill for a pin...it was too sloppy....it should be bushed for a descent fit. The comma part was still loose. There was a guy here who reworked his, and got it to work better....I got frustrated with it, and bought the SO. It would cost you around 195 canadian plus whatever tax and duty, and I don't have those figures. The SO scroller saved me a lot of rework. Plus you get an idea book with it that has lots of great stuff in it.![]()

Sorry but I'm not able to correlate the SO abbreviation to a company. Could someone be so good as to clue me in?
Never Mind......Search and ye shall find Shop Outfitters.
BTW Rocky I really like that "receiver hitch" contraption. Think I'll have to add on to my table too.
Thanks.

I do quite a bit of scrollmaking in the stuff i make. There is a company called metalcraftusa.com. I have made a thousand scrolls from big to small, and every one is the same without any flat-spots whatsoever. Nor do they twist. Its a very quality product, and I would recommend it to anybody. Good luck
