Hi all youse guys (and gals)out there.I'm Willie.I AM NOT A WELDER,NEVER HAVE BEEN,AND PROBABLY NEVER WILL BE>(It all depends on the definition of a welder.)But I have been known to ask questions of REAL welders which these REAL welders could not answer.SOME welders accuse me of depriving them of sleep because I come up with questions that generally originate in an area that has nothing to do with welding as welding is normally understood in the trade.I am on the point of retiring and got interested in jewelry-making and this involves soldering and brazing as an every day occurrence. But when you decide to make some of your own tooling you really have to get involved in real welding.and because you dont have (or I dont have wads of cash )I often have to innovateand THEN things get very interesting and the questions just float out there around the perimiter of the subject of welding and I think I have been guilty of frustrating welders by asking questions not directly involved in their day to day work or involving procedures not normally indulged in by professionals.I joined the forum because i need information from experienced welders and believe I can be of use to established welders by opening up NEW ideas worth investigating and even showing dedicated and committed welders other creative uses for their skills which hopefully will either introduce them to a whole new world but one which depends on many of the skills and tools which they already possess.Heres looking forward to some new angles on old tricks.
