Convert 10 pin to 14 pin?

I have a 90's model tigwave 250 with a 10 pin receptical for the remote. I bought it without a foot pedal, but I have a 14 pin miller pedal. I would like to buy a 14 pin receptical and replace the 10 pin with it. the 14 pin seems alot more common, and it would get me a pedal setup on the cheap. Also if I want a finger tip control it would be easier to find the 14 pin. From what I've read, both plug types only use 5 pins. If anyone can walk me through this I would really appreciate it. I know I can get a new pedal from SSC controls, but I would like to avoid spending $180 or more. Gotta get a water cooled torch and cooler next. I got a really good deal on the machine but if I spend a bunch more on the setup my wife might freak out! Thanks in advance for your help.

Anyone tried this or have any info on the pin layout? The searches and info I've found is a little muddy, as far as weather or not the difference in ohms is important. I think the miller pedal is 5k ohms and the hobart is suppose to be 25k ohms, both are 2 watt I believe. Any help on this would be appreciated.
