Your welder has big capacitors that smooth ripples in DC current the diodes made from AC current. Capacitors quickly take electrical charge and quickly discharge electricity. When you stop welding then touch electrode to work capacitors quickly discharge causing a spark.

(I love my 125 EZ)...I bet its just that residual capacitor bleed-off, like they both have noted.![]()
"Good Enough Never Is"
Based on the electrical schematic, and parts list, the HH 125 EZ doesn't have a filter cap for the output power.
MigMaster 250- Smooth arc with a good touch of softness to it. Good weld puddle wetout. Light spatter producer.
Ironman 230 - Soft arc with a touch of agressiveness to it. Very good weld puddle wet out. Light spatter producer.

HH 125 EZ - impressive little fluxcore only unit
Your right filter cap for the output power is not shown but it could be on circuit board along with contactor also not shown. I don't have H125EZ to look at circuit board.

Yeah i dont know what the deal is but it will Do it every time i touch it to a ground It is weaker then when im welding but still isnt cool.
Call Hobart service and ask.
