Hobart Champion Elite Engine Hour Meter & Idle Control

Hey all! I hope your day has been going well.

I have a question about the engine hour meter and idle control gage (hour meter). I ran the unit for ten minutes just to keep everytin' lubricated and to put some charge to the battery. As part of the hour meter and to the right of the digital portion is what appears to be a triangle with an exclamation point with an illuminated (assumed to illuminate) portion above it - see photo.

IMG_3581c.jpg This is what the hour meter looks like with the ignition on, engine off/ engine running full throttle/ engine running auto idle down. It doesn't matter whether it is AC or DC and has been with me since day one. I did thoroughly read the manual before start up and up until my neighbor asked me "what's that for?" I felt OK; now I would like to know definitely.

It appears the same color as the display and does not flash but dont know if it should be green, red, or if it should be dark; or flashing and there is no additional information about it in the manual. I have not checked the operation of the machine today but I assume it is running correctly since this is how it has always been.

    1.What does this dot indicate?

    2. How do I know if it is in fault or if it is operating correctly?

    3. Is this anything to worry about?

Hmmmmm.... I would love to say I knew exactly the answer you need, but I don't.
1:fuel? And liquids or fluids that the engine needs.
2:Any strange noises coming from it?
3: if it's running fine then I would assume that it's nothing but... I would wait to hear from someone knowledgeable about a welder generator.
4: according to the online manual it's a oil change light, faster no tool routine maintence gauge. I would assume you need to check all fluids but other than that I don't know.

Hobby Welder, thanks for being gentle and I am embarrassed. Well, well, well........, lol, I must have read that page with my shield on. So that is an indicator and is it supposed to flash (page 8-4) at 100 hours? I guess I never caught on because there is no symbol of a head observing the hour meter and changing the oil. I saw this but it never registered with me.

Will this gage flash at any other fault? The manual has just about everything identified with that warning symbol and, I guess that indicator could flash (assuming) for anything, rpm, angle, voltage, etc, because just about everything in the manual is marked with that triangle.

Np. I can't say for at least 2 reasons: 1: I don't own one. 2: I only read through the online product manual.

So, of it persists, there could be a slight chance that the light is not hooked up properly and after the fluid is changed it is not registering it. But, if it does, (I would reccomend this anyway) call customer service or email them. They should know a lot more than I do (it would be scary if they didn't).

I just got off the phone with a service tech named (K)name withheld)), and he says Hobart doesn't use this gage for anything else but an hour meter. I am told, however, Miller uses it for a low fuel warning. When I asked about the information in section 8 of the manual and reseting the oil timer, he said no, it is just an hour meter and this warning indicator is non-functional.
