Hi everyone, I am looking at what looks like an old Miller AEAD-200?, not really sure of the model number, seller says it is not in working order. Are these machine's worth getting involved with? Are parts still available for them? Anyone have a general idea when these things were made? I don't want to buy this and get stuck with a boat anchor. Any info would be appreciated.

Frank,
I bought one of those brand new back in 1982 They were ok but, did they say what exactly was wrong with it and what is the asking price?? Run time hours?? Does it have a 2 cly. onan engine??
They said "I don't know, no one currently employed here has ever used it" Asking price is $25, the issue is I'd have to drive 6-7 hours one way to go get it. Its in North Carolina. It would be a leap of faith.
Yea, that's a tuff one. Not because of the 25 bucks but of the drive. I say you might as well forget it. If you knew someone in NC you could steer them to it but, that's bigger than a leap.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I could live with a $25 anchor, but 12-14 hours of driving, at least 2 tanks of fuel, dragging the trailer with me (it's on a small trailer, ? tires, bearings, hub's?) add tolls etc to find the motor is seized and needs a complete rebuild. I think your right, let it go. I'd sure like to buy a brand new Miller or Hobart, but I cant justify the price for something I would like to have, but really don't need. Thanks for the input.
