Good bandsaw???

Off topic, to be sure, but found a Carlton radial arm drill press for the same Washington friend near enough to his shop for him to drive his flatbed trailer and Chevy truck over to pick it up. Don't remember if the price was $1500 or $1600, but for a machine, picture isn't of his, in good shape, vintage WWII and still serviced by what's left of Carlton...not bad. Came with 440v motors. He swapped them out, took them to the motor rebuild shop and they now run 220v. His has the three foot radial arm instead of the longer version...fits his shop better. 9000 lbs.+


I'd like to say that I did it out of the kindness of my heart, but that would be a lie! I had a vested interest in seeing him get the drill press...so he would sell me his old 3-speed power downfeed Royersford drill press. Another 1000 lb. machine.

Try Jet, Delta and Ridgid. Less expensive band saw machines. It can work just fine and gets the job done.
