You inspired me to fix an issue that I discovered with the spool hub on my Migmaster. Rotating the hub assembly by hand there was a very noticable sticky spot in the travel that required more effort to rotate the hub. Investigating the issue, I discovered that horizontally (back to front), the spindle wasnt square to the sheet metal wire drive compartment wall. Vertically it was dead on. Due to the flimsy design, it was fairly easy to square the spindle to wall from back to front. Now the hub assembly rotates smoothly by hand. I am going to run a few weld beads with it here shortly to see if there is any improvement.

I hate the retaining clip design on the Migmaster spool hub. Instead of the clip, I've been using the hose clamp from that supposed spool spacer that I purchased several years ago.
Dan,,,did realigning the spool show any noticeable improvement in the wire feed . I like the idea with a hose clamp,it will square it self as you snug it.

You have to watch this wire, because it picks up moisture really bad. Plastic spool make it hard to bake out, but I got it usable again. Seems way better this side of the mountain, but my friend had it go bad really fast at the coast. Welds nice though.. Probably better off with something like Hobart 71 Excel-arc overall.
