By the time it gets there, we should have all sorts of virtual weld settings for you to try.. Tap 2 to start, and end...

    Scott,

I get out, but I haven't done much welding lately. I did buy a Chi-Com GiantTech Slice 50 Plasma last summer. It has done everything I needed it to, and for less than $400, I have no complaints.

There was one guy adding the Thermal one torch to those things, and getting a huge improvement. Of course then you can't order a truck full of consumables for cheap that way. I could see it about doubling the cut thickness over the Esab style torch. (most have something similar)

The torch costs more than I paid for the plasma!

Hotfoot, way to go. If you primarily work with one client in the field, there are ways of getting 240v.
I assume you mean going into her electrical panel and adding a "pigtail" circuit. not an option. She leases one small, old building in an old complex of about ten similar ones- almost like an old "Motor Court". The lady who owns all that would not be receptive to me messing with the electrical...and the whole complex is so "fragile" in terms of wiring and plumbing, I dare not mess with any of it....so my 125 EZ just plugs in, and does a great job on all that Patio Furniture, Plant Stand, etc. stuff.

Hotfoot, I was hinting at using two separate circuits (outlets). Not exactly kosher and certainly not advisable in a old & fragile environment.
