    Exclamation Dan!!...scotty!! Help!

I'm locked into a indecision corner...You guys have seen my Junk Art, much of which relies on my MIG welding of thin sheet meta' the rest pretty conventional MIG stuff.

I'm just about deadlocked in placing my order today for either:

The ESAB Caddy 200 (what's with the C160 u, anyways?) (sounds all-around GREAT!)

The Thermal ARC 181 i ( I'm not that interested in doing MIG right now, but it is Spool Gun Capable with a $280.00 gun)
(I keep having visions of building an all-aluminum, ultra light teardrop camper)

    The Handler 190 w/Spool Gun

The Handler 210 MVP (the portability appeals to me. I did go down to the store and pick one up, and move around with it a bit...I think my Right Arm is now 1 1/2 Inches longer than my left, but its not too bad!

I sold my H180 (trusty, welded good enough for me!, just to get into a MVP, so I could dispose of my 125 EZ (a GEM!), and just have the one machine.

I would have to keep the EZ if I went with the TA or ESAB (no 110, and I do a fair amount of that for a client of mine).

To further add to your indecision, have you seen the new Miller Multimaster 200, 110/220 Mig with spool gun capability- DC Tig and Stick and weights 29 lbs. It just came out in April

The C160i price is about 75% of the C200i price.

if you mean the Miller Multimatic 200, its $1,000 more than the Thermal Arc at Cyberweld...price is a factor for me.

Sure IS for most of us, know that feeling all too well- but yes-that is the model-aging gray cells messed up the name. I had tripped across it the other day. I think Miller is trying to beat TA to the market they still haven't released their 210/211 model with 110/220 feature.

If you decide on the 181i, make sure you check out the free auto-dark helmet deal. They are vague about when it ends.

I believe you will be most happy with a Thermal-arc 181. The Tweco #2/4 gun back-end, and all the options for later should be a factor. I really like my Esab-200, but kind of fills a special need for me. Excellent off of a smaller generator. Right now the Esab C-200 is over $200.00 more then a 181. The C-160 is a option, but I think having a stick option of the 181 sways me there. The inductance control on the 181 allows for more infinite control over the C-200 setup. Not a big deal, but nicer (IMO) With stick you always have the option of picking up some 6011/ 309/312 rod,(Ebay is your friend) and be able to glue most type steel together. That adds tons of versatility to that unit.. I would order a 181, and not look back...
