    New Welder

Morning everyone, just wanted to introduce myself; my name is Steven and I just purchased my first welder. Approx two years ago I got interested in restoration work, primarily on old John Deere garden tractors and implements. It wasn't long after I began this new hobby that it became clear to me that I was going to need a welder. After a lot of research on welders, I settled on a Hobart Handler 140. I opted for this machine based on a few variables; for starters the price was where I wanted to be based on the gauge of metal it will weld, also I have heard nothing but good things said about this machine and how it is a great welder for beginners to learn on. I have a family member who is a pipe fitter and he said I will not be disappointed with this machine. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. As I said, this is my first welder so I'm sure I will have many questions for the more experienced people on this site. Thanks!

    Lightbulb Investing

Welcome Steve to the weld talk chatter box.
That was a wise investment for sure.. Equipment and welders go hand in hand. Some equipment don't run without a welder.

    Sounds like a good investment.

As for being a Deere fan, have you seen some of their factories? The Harvester Works gives tours, and if you're a big fan you'll just love seeing the factory.
