Very Old Dayton plug in heat range AC welder

I have dad's old Dayton welder, cleaned up it looks great and works.
It was my first welder hands on back in 68, Model # 1Z68 best I can read off the missing paint.
It has four plug ins, Low, med, high and extra high by different tap combinations.
Any date, instructions or background history available on it?
Input 28 to 14 amps 230 volt, yeah sounds backwards that's how it's printed.

    THX.....~~=o&o>.....

Have you tried contacting them? They are still in business, and may have archives .

My dad and I had one almost like that back in the 60's. Worked ok with the proper rods, IE 6011, 6013 and the like. The old Lincoln AC tombstone welders were a better choice.
