Propane cutting tips for Hobart Torch kit

Well, I tried to bend the ears on my smithing magician with the air/MAPP torch - no go. The instructions direct me to use the 4140 tool steel die blank for a sharp edge and it soaks up too much heat.

So, I'm looking to buy the Hobart 770502 kit and use it with propane. It looks like the only propane specific item are the cutting tips and I don't need a large one. Is the 770166 (3/4 inch) tip compatible with the 502 kit or should I get the 770162 (1 inch) which specificially states on this site for use with the 770500 and 770502?

As previously stated, I'll weld steel with the Stickmate or 210. I'm looking to heat, bend and cut from 1/4 inch up to 3/4 or 1 inch. I'm also planning to get the 770169 rosebud.

I can't speak to the Hobart stuff, But yes the tips are what you will need. I have posted a thread on here about the the old craftsmen rig that with the addition of the two piece tip works well with the LPG.
Now there is a learning curving in cutting with LPG it is slower in pre heating and forward movement is slower.
The mixing chamber is in the tip. Of course your mileage may vary!
glen, been there, done that and probably broke it!If you aren't on the edge. You'r taking up to much room

The # 770166 tip is for the heavy duty Victor torch that takes the series 1 tips. You need to use the series 3 tips on the medium-duty torch.
