What has happened to the Hobart Air Force 400?

The AF 400 is missing from the Hobart offerings, is the 500I a comparable machine? TIA, Steve

    Sure-

the 400 hd the switch on the back for 120/240v and you had to replace the plug to match the Voltage you were using.

The 500 has the MVP system

I'm selling mine. It's in the for sale forum.

You really don't have to change the plug. Just make up a short adapter cord for 110.

I ran mine on 220. You need some serious line amperage to run on 110.

I have an air force 400 I run it on 110, I use a 25 food Rv extension cord rated at 30 amps, I just changed the ends on it. I also had a dedicated 30 amp receptacle installed for it. This set up works great for me. I picked up another 30 amp, 25 foot cord at Camping World for 3 or 4 dollars, it was on the clearance table, one of the ends wasdamaged. I stored it away as a back up. I have the ladies in the store watching for a 50 amp cord for me to make an extension cord for my welders.
