    New pipe welding career

I am taking a welding class at my local college to learn as much as I can about pipe welding. I have been a welder for 14 years and I am great at mig and tig and stick and even went to the college of oceaneering years ago to become an underwater welder although that didn't work out because I was married at the time and every time I was offshore my wife was screwing around. Anyway I would really like to get into a pipe welding career and I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. As I said I am taking a class right now but I have heard it's tough to get into. I was thinking about moving to Tulsa and testing for the Local 798. Any help, ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I live in Nevada right now and as you probably know the unemployment rate is one of the highest in the nation and there is still no work here. I have got to get out of this state. Thanks again.

find a job, and take the test. if you bust pipe, they may let you take a plate test.
