The are different motor numbers based on serial number so be sure you use your serial number to obtain the correct manual. These motors will draw around 1 amp unloaded.

i took my welder to a miller dealer and the told me that the wire feed motor was the problem. they ordered me a new motor,i put it in and it still slows and then stops after about twenty seconds... i think i just wasted 120.00 dollars now what?????
no i havent contacted them but i did jump by the resistor and thats the problem. now where can i get one Thanks!!

Rather than attempting to repair it myself, I would be back to the Miller dealer that replaced the motor, asking them for a settlement due to their incompetent performance. Did you ask for the the replaced motor on the first repair, and have you checked it according to Keith's advice? Only if the motor failing CAUSED the thermistor to fail, should you be paying out more money, and then only the cost of the thermistor!

They didnt replace the motor but they did tell me that they thought the motor was bad. They did however order me a new motor and I replaced it.The problem is that the new motor had a different shaft in it and I removed the shaft from the old motor and put it in the new one.So im sure they will say I should have brought it back .But I needed the welder and wanted to get it fixed .Anyway I have a spare motor and a new resistor on its way.Seems like an easy job to replace the resistor , Ill just have to wait for it to come. Thanks for everyones help.
What your calling Resistor is it the PTC1 which is a Thermistor?
Roger
Yes its the PTC1 I just jumped across it and it worked fine.I ordered a new one from the link you gave me. Shipping was far more than the part. Thanks
Where did you order the motor and what is the part number. My book list the part number as 202-708 but I don't find it anywhere under that part number. An email to midget9999@embarqmail.com would be appreciated.
Thanks
owner's manual????
If you threw it away already, look around on the top line of this page, I'm sure it's available.
