speedglas 9001xx switching speed

thinking about picking one up but im wondering on the switching speed.i was never good at math so im not certain if im correct.does the 0.1 ms equal out to be 1/10,000ths of a second?

thanks..thats pretty slow compared to a lot of others,im surprised seeing the helmet cost so much..either way i just ordered one tonight so i hope im not disappointed..

I wouldn't sweat it. There is a coating on the autodarkening assembly that blocks the ultraviolet light which is the most damaging form; that is always there. Switching time seems to partially be about bragging rights. The only time I could tell any difference was with an inexpensive Harbor Freight helmet that was solely powered by solar cells with no battery assist. It was late evening with little ambient light. The autodark shade was "asleep" so when I struck an arc it took some time to energize and there was an annoying flash. With sufficient light it worked fine.

The Speedglas line is held in high regard by professional weldors which says a lot and you should get years of enjoyment from your purchase.
