    Hey, Alloy...That "Slinky" reference is to my 'Signature', that appears on ever post. It has nothing to do with the content of your post. My comment was in regards to the vague nature of your first post.

    Sounds like metal-clad to me. That's an Aluminum case over an alloy. My preference is Rice, Barley Malt and Hops.

    Hmmm. Since most of my steel purchases (by weight) have been W6x9 yanked out of the ground or A36-whatever shapes it's a moot point to me. But if I spec Al-Clad and get SAE1020.....I think I'll figure it out.

    Counterfeit electronic parts are a big problem for Hi-Rel manufacturers doing military or flight-qualified stuff. Buying from trusted vendors with a paper trail is our best defense there. Good thing too since it's pretty tough to do a spark-test with a grinder. Hard on the parts, to say nothing for reliability.
