Another one that ranks right up there with that kind of thing is machine tool operator and if you want to add some filth to your tediousness body work. Have we left anything out yet except maybe,,, hot asphalt roofing?

Digging a ditch doesn't bother me. A while back I was on a job, big rental excavator and another kid was there as I was figuring out what to do. I could see him drooling, I picked up the shovel and sent him to the machine. I been operating equipment since I was a little kid, thrill of that stuff is long gone.
i wish i could drop back onto a tractor for a few weeks. 50 hours a week 7 months a year was a bit more than i can stand but sometimes you just want to let your mind rest a little and yet still do something.
Well this morning I pushed a couple jobs out the door and am now down to actually 1 thing that is broke that I have immediate use for. I was behind all summer and the last 2 weeks restore 4 cars back to full service, 2 with transmission problems, 2 deer collision and other general body work, 1 major engine repair. Serviced one this morning that got ran hard picking up some slack. Got one to install a new tail light in yet. I am not uptight about appearance but like even our older fleet type light cars to look stock, not missing or busted lights, etc. I found a pair of new for one, 60$, wasn't worth the effort of any kind of cobble job, sheet metal in a new mount, looks 100% stock again.
Was running like turd, replace intake gasket, new plugs and a coil that had shorted, burned a 60 ft strip out of the shop, now running right. 200 in parts couple days work and its a fully serviceable car that doesn't look all banged up.
I made the ins co pay full rate for one, I turn about 1 in 6 actual claims in but they didn't blink when I turn in the estimate from the body shop, 2400,, who btw were glad to pick up the deductible, ha They were busy enough I had to wait to get estimate, they did make me do 100 deductible but still cut me a check for over 2300, if this body shop is doing a few of these a week they making a killing. I bought new parts for 200, didn't even try to penny pinch the deal, paint a piece of trim and bolt on 2 parts, a real body guy would have had to absolutely sit around and pull his weenie to make this job last 4 hrs. What a scheme, no wonder the place hasn't found the need to add on in 25 yrs.
