    grave marker

My daughter's 16 year old cat "Socrates" died today, so I made it a grave marker with granite and stainless ... She was happy, so worth the effort..

i really dont know why. it just doesnt fit to me. its a part below the whole of it. i think it would have been much nicer if it was omitted or at least differently done.

im not hassling anybody if thats what youre thinking. i get the whole rest of it and its about as perfect as that circumstance can be made. its a forum, i was just talking.

LOL ... I am not sure I understand anything after OAK... yep by a scrub oak, SOC's is what she called her cat... below that are the month born and month died ... and years of both...
the cat is bolted to the granite, and it lays over the cats body that is burried about 3 feet below surface..
Thanks for your comments, my daughter thought it was great, and I guess that's the important thing...

    Hey Jim,
Nice marker & the thought of the memories that your daughter will cherish. Pets are like our children.....at least that's how I feel about my Yorkies. I made this one for my 2nd Yorkie...Bo. I have #3 now, Max, & he brings so much companionship to me & always keeps me smiling...... super medicine they are.

Your efforts brought solace to your daughter and expressed your love for her. All that matters.

Good that you do the things like this for you daughter, my daughter now 23,
But I still remember her @ 8 yrs old when I had regained custody of her & my son I had to travel to Monroe La to pick them up & return to Pa.
She wanted to bring her kitten and I said no, she freaked and I now wish I could go back & change things but it was a long haul with no crate and home wasn't finished for it.
God bless you, sounds like amgood dad!

    Cool

I am planning my own tombstone from stainless steel. I will have it all welded up and someone else can add the dates. Extra numbers will be cut out they just need spot welded on....Bob
