Heh… I think I'm going to rig a microswitch on the back of my pedal to open the valve as soon as I start putting my foot down. It should be easy enough to build a post flow delay into the circuit…

    Will these SCR's work

    Thanks Mike W & Morpheus........

    I found these 2N1792 110amps 700volts rms SCR

Do you know if these will work?

    One more Question......R4 250k 40% potentiometer ( whats the 40% for)?

    Thanks Bruski36

Those SCR's sound good for this application. Can you get them cheap? As for R4, I used a 1 Meg ohm potentiometer because I couldn't get full on to off with the 1/3 to 1/2 travel my foot pedal was moving it through. Don't worry about the 40%, not sure what that was all about. It needs to be linear taper (not audio), and doesn't need to be very high wattage. It handles very little current.

Your board looks great, nice thick traces, good layout.
I like the BioHazard symbols too.
From that as a starting point I probably wouldn't feel too bad about assembling it myself.

What did the total of the parts come to ?

I have about $15 in parts for the board, not including the board itself or etching supplies.

    The pot was about $10.

    Everything was from www.mouser.com

Maybe you could post a picture of the circuit you ended up using and how you wired it, and them more knowledgeable on here can pick it apart, see what you did wrong ?
