Ahhhhh who needs that dumb little wrench?
Most of the ones I see have been opened and closed with pliers, vise grips, hammers, wrecking bars.

I actually keep mine on the valve(I know, what a silly place).

I have a 4-way chuck key which has a square hole in the middle that fits the little acetylene bottles. I do not remember where I got the thing but when I had a set of the small bottles it lived on the acetylene valve as it was just easier to use than the little wrench that came with the set up.

    Ya know, WE MAKE THINGS!

What could be so hard about making a 1/4 inch wrench? I made a one inch open-end for my table saw out of some flat steel. I lost the original and the common store-bought won't fit in the opening.

Get cable and swedges from hardware store, cable wrench to regulator, problem solved forever or until the cable breaks.

Of course I don't DO this (having only one small cylinder and many Vise-Grips), but if I used the little cylinder with any frequency I would.

If you have an Atwoods near you they probably have them. The store here has them, in a little Hobart brand 2 pack.
