If that pipe welding machine did not consistently produce satisfactory welds there would be no use for it in the trade.
The only feathers ruffled appear to be yours, and since this is a totally uninformative and pointless exchange to the OP, I think I'll just drop it.

We likely aint running 5/16 rods but if this all about the champ it has its place but production pipeline aint one of them. 2 things on duty, it wouldnt bother me to crank out a TB all day, wear it out so what and I think lots of welders love talking about burn all day on wide open every daylight hour and thru the night, in reality the last couple jobs I drove by seemed a great cell phone battery would rank right up there with a good machine??? haha

I was in a cafeteria the other day, Monday about 8.30 am, crew of 3 gonna fit some gas service pipe. 2 guys in shorts, older guys, tennis shoes, one managed to open the gang box, both yakking non stop on the phone, the 3rd guy, probably an apprentice, work boots, jeans, welders shirt, cap and work gloves was trying to get going and I suspect was disgusted at the whole deal.Didn't look like they would get 3 joints by,,,, Friday
