    Hey Old fart,
COuld you email me that manual, too? Ive got one of those old G-213's (mine's powered by a Wisconsin 4 cyl) and all of a suden, today, it just stopped putting out amps. Nothing. No 40 volts, no nothing. I gotta figure it out and have no wiring diagram to consult. If you could send me a wiring diagram, I'd sure appreciate it.
You can send it to martinf@forkidsake.net

    Thanks a lot.

    even older

    Boy,
was I wrong...it's not a G-213, it's a Spec 514 Hobart Simplified, built in June 1941 (Thanks, Keith). SUrpirisingly, it all workes well...well, it did last Fall, but now this SPring, egine started right up, bu no juice coming to the leads on the welder. Not even a volt! I've included a pic of it

    Two questions for you guys:
1 - Does anybody have a wiring diagram for this old girl?
And 2 - How do I flash the shunt on this one? I tired just hooking 12 v up to the output (stinger and ground) for a few seconds, but I'm guessing that's not the right way. How do I isolate the shunt windings and does it matter which way I hook them up, polarity wise?

    thanks for any assistance.

Hi Old Fart. (love the nickname)

Just wondering if you still have that manual for the Hobart G213? Would be most grateful if you could email it to me at benny2000@bigpond.com

I just got hold of one of these and am having the same problem as some other folks, welding works fine, but no AC output.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Cheers, Ben.
