Straight CO2, deep penetration, more splatter, cheaper than C25. C25 much better weld appearance, no splatter. Have to be careful using straight CO2 in a closed area, headaches or worse.
I use CO2 for all my plate welding and thicker stuff as it seems to burn in better. Thin stuff not so good. The only time I have spatter problems is when my nozzle is clogged or my stick out is to long. It's a lot cheaper and I get more weld time with CO2 because it's a liquid as compared to an argon mix which is a gas. So far CO2 has worked well for me.
