    Mm175

    Novice welder here and am getting some conflicting advice about the MM175 mig welder. Is the MM 175 mig welder capable of welding 1/2" steel in one pass ?

    WJONES43...............WELL ABSOLUTELY NOT..............THE ONLY WAY TO DO 1/2 INCH IS TO "V" IT OUT AND DO SEVERAL PASSES OVER THE ROOT............AMOUNT OF PASSES DEPENDS ON THE WIDTH OF THE "V".............THIS IS STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSES MOUTH...........SORRY..............     No it is not. The 175 will only do 1/4" Steel in a single pass. For 1/2" you will need to go with the 250 machine.
