Hey FFA students, faculty and alumni! The 2008 show is finally here! Once again, Hobart Welders has an awesome booth setup for you to try welding and cutting. And yes, the welding contest is back this year with even better prizes!

Welding contests will be held on October 22, 23 and 24 with daily prizes that include a MIG welder, an auto-darkening helmet, leather welding jackets, gloves and more. How cool is that?!?! Stop by the booth (#388 across from the shopping mall) and lay down your best bead. If yours qualifies at the end of the day, you'll score one of these awesome prizes!

One more thing ... Hobart is shooting video from the top of our truck and posting them right here on WeldTalk. Check back each night and see video clips of you and your friends welding with Hobart!

Hello All,

I am entertaining thoughts of purchasing a new Hobart auto-darkening FFA tribute welding hood. Is anyone using the FFA Helmet? If so, how do you like it? Is it worth it?

^ FFA helmet is good. It's worth the money. The paint, however, is just scratch resistant, not scratch proof.
