    New Handler 140

Have a new Handler 140 and hooked everything up according to directions. Got ready to run wire through the handle and the drive motor will not turn. Tension knob is set to 2-3, all I get is a click when I hit the button. Is there something I can do to correct this problem?

    Hi, 78, and welcome.

Unfortunately, it looks like you got one of the rare bad apples that come off the line and wind up out the door.

It's most likely a circuit board problem. The Hobart Experts read the forum posts often, and may respond to you, but in any case, call the technical support number in your manual on Monday.

If you're up to opening the case an replacing the component, I'll bet Hobart will overnight you the part you need.

Make sure you have the voltage dial selector switch set exactly to one of the 1-4 voltage range selections. If you do, you might try a differenet voltage dial setting. It is also possible that you lost a wire connection to the voltage selector switch either on the switch or on the control board. If you have an older stock HH 140 that has the purge setting on the voltage dial, the unit won't feed wire with it set to purge.
