For a while now, I have been thinking about how cool it would be to learn how to weld. I'm a remodeling contractor, so all of my fabrication is with wood because it's what I know.
Last week, I needed to have a jack welded onto my dump trailer. A friend of mine welded it for me and it was the first time I ever saw welding done in person. I realized that welding was something that would be really useful to me and that I should just jump in and start learning.
I purchased refurbished "A" HH140 from Toolking the other day. I haven't received it yet, so in the meantime, I'm doing a lot of reading online.
I don't know JACK about welding, so get ready for some stupid questions.
The first "real" thing I want to build is an upper gate for my dump trailer. Right now, I have one made out of....wood (go figure) and it's heavy and awkward to take on and off.
But first, I need to accumulate a lot of scrap and practice....practice...practice...
