    Anyone Done A SAS?

Im a Nissan 4x4 Nut, the only downside in my opinion on 720 & Hard Body Nissans are they never came with a straight axle front end like a Toyota. So im planning up to chop all the IFS out from under a '85 model frame i have and start a build of my own of a SAS Nissan 720. Anyone on here done this? I know theres a few forums that folks have done it but they are quite stingy with their info. Ive got the biggest part of it planned out, just wanted to see if anyone else on here had ever done it.

    try this...

    Howdy Howdy!

I have found more modified information for trucks at pirate 4X4 . com then anywhere else. Do a google search for it, and you'll find it for sure. I'm not 100% on the URL, but the name is right. It's a 4X4 club out of BC canada that is really into highly modified rigs. Good action pics too. Good luck, Brian Lee Sparkeee29

I redid a SAS on a nissan Xterra. not to bad. You might wanna look at NOAS4x4club.com or 4x4parts.com. Those sites have some nissan SAS projects.

    Where in TN are you?

A couple people did them on bc4x4.com in the nissan section. You would probably have to go a long way back in posts to see them. One pathfinder sat near stock level, then had fancy airbag system lift it way up. Had custom subframe etc. Big dollar stuff. Other was just a really good sas project.

I could, might, possibly be wrong, but I don't think a SAS has ever been done on a Nissan.

Pirate4x4 is out of CA , and has 130k members from all over the world. there is a wealth of info there, but watch yourself, they can be quite harsh to newbies.

Whiteknight.ca is from BC, CA I believe.

^^Pirate is called "Pirate" for a reason! They can be a bit ugly to newbies on there. I have helped with a SAS on one 87 4runner and one Xterra. There may be a kit out there for what you want to do and all you will need is the donor vehicle. That may be a pre-IFS yota or a D-44 from a Jeep, not sure. I'm a Jeep guy and love Cherokees (XJ's) and have 5 of them and one JK (08 Wrangler). They are cheap to buy, cheap to build and come with a solid front axle. But if Nismo is your thing go for it, nothing wrong with them, I wheel with plenty of the Xterra's.
