Multi-mig Welder ??

New member. My father-in-law gave me a Multi-Mig (Telwin) 90070-71, 65 amp, 110v MIG welder he got at farm & Fleet before they closed....is probably 10 years old . The plastic gas regulator is broke, no gas bottle, and there was a a rusty .024 reel of solid wire on it. I cleaned it all up....the drive mechanism and variable wire feed seem to work OK. My question is where can I get replacement tips (.030) and a gas regulator? I want to get some argon and try it out with .030 aluminum wire.......any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

If I can't find any tips I'll probably trash it.....

I have been wrong at least once in my life, BUT, I don't think you have a chance of running .030 aluminum with that toy. Sorry.

Thanks for the feedback....I may try a spool of Innershield before I trash it.

The front panels says 65 amps max at 10% duty cycle.

It isn't that it couldn't work but likely wont be of much use. Good welders are one of the super consumer values, they work well and are worth any money spent on a quality unit, its something a guy doesn't even imagine the uses for until he has one. Those cheapies are good for one thing,, keeping the dust off the shelf its sitting on and a lot of people have a hard time cutting their losses which would be offset in the form of usable storage space.

Hi, you can get tips for this direct from Schumacher Electric in Chicago, Il.

item #9807600069 (original #90009) is a 10 pack of .030 tips and 2 nozzles.

multimig was sold by triple A specialties in the '80's then Schumacher absorbed them and sold the same model.

I have one of these I bought new in 1987, still works good. pretty underpowered but does sheetmetal just fine with .023 wire.
