    Here's an O/T question

Any of you old Hobart engine drive guys remember what color the old Chrysler industrial 225 slant six engines were painted in the Hobart welder generators? I pulled the unit off the trailer this morning to replace the floor of the trailer and decided to power wash the engine. I expected to see a few traces of Chrysler engine red but instead found a lot of gold paint. Much of it looks to be factory. Was Gold the color of these engines?

    Continental engine?

I used to work around a Jaeger Air compressor that had a flathead Continental engine. I was told it was a Chrysler. I think it was a beige color.

Continental engines weren't made by Chrysler.

As far as I recall, the older Hobart engine drives I've seen had the engines painted the same pukey greenish-gold color as the bodywork. I haven't seen enough of them to know if they were all that way, though.
