    New Hobart Website Coming

Dear Hobart WeldTalk Members and Guests,

On September 24th a brand new website will be launched for HobartWelders.com and the WeldTalk forum. The commercial product site will feature a brand new look, consistent branding of Hobart equipment and accessories, as well as improved icon based navigation. All of the latest new products from Hobart are featured on the site.

You will also see a significant expansion of the WeldTalk forum categories. During the past six months we talked to the 30 most frequent visitors to WeldTalk, presented a new site layout for the forum and ask for feedback. The response was overwhelmingly favorable. We think the final topic categories suggested by your peers will provide a superior structure for sharing knowledge within the welding community.

From all of us at Hobart, thanks for your continued support. We welcome your feedback.

    Regards,
    The Hobart Team

(See attached photo for a sneak peak at the website.)

Looks interesting. Is the Hobart Handler going to be on there finally? It should be easy to navigate just as long as its layed out simple. Its great to see you got the opinions from the guys on the forum. Not to bash other companies but has anyone been to the SummitRacing website? Good prices but the website is a headache.

Thanks for the heads up Caleb. I can only hope that Hobart will furnish access online for all the older and discontinued products as well as featuring new items. One of the most frustrating things is to have sources of information to dry up and it seems as if something you own never existed.

    Regards,

The new website, will it allow us to post larger pictures? I haven't been posting pictures here because I have to downsize them even small than I do anywhere else.

I welcome the change and hope that you go to V-Bulletin format for the forums. The current one shall we say, sucks and needs upgrading!!

Anyway thanks for the support by Hobart on the internet for our feelings and thoughts.

WOW! That's kinda harsh isn't it?

Aside from the new look, I think the biggest improvement that will come with the new format is the additional forum categories. (I should mention that the improvements to the products side of things will be good, too, but I'm not currently looking for any new stuff, so I'm mainly interested in the forum.) For some it won't matter, because they log on, click 'New Posts' and read whatever shows up. Others, though, who are interested in just welding stainless steel, or just ATVs, or just TIG welding, may benefit by not having to search through so many threads.

I, for one, look forward to the new format. I don't think the current one sucks, but the only way to progress is to change.

Whats harsh? I personally don't like the format of the current forum and I am expressing my viewpoint. As far as I know, we can still express our opinion or are we under the authority of the thought police even here?

Most of the forums are now running V-Bulletin and is more user friendly than the current one running. Let''s hope we see something we all will like.

And I am guessing it will have the HH 210 list on the new site. I just got home from stocking and noticed my local TSC got some HH 210's in. The images on the box look like the same image as on the new website preview.

    New format

Glad that we will be able to post larger pictures. That was the only thing that I thought was lacking on the present set up. Progress is great isn't it?
