    regulator replacement questions

hey my friend knocked over my tank and broke out the part that you view the pressure youre using, the side that only goes up to 50psi or whatever it stands for you know.... haha but is there anyway I can replace THAT part and that part only so I dont have to buy a whole new regulator on his dime? I feel bad since it was an accident any way of getting around buying a whole new one? sucks that theyre so expensive.

It was YOUR tank and it wasn't secured so that it couldn't be knocked over?

IMO, that is unacceptable. He can offer to split it with you, but I think it's your responsibility.

Now, if he borrowed your tank and broke it while he was using it, that's something else.

But to answer the question, if only the guage is broke, then that is all you need to replace.

Better be thankful all you have to replace is a gauge, rather than a wall in your house....or you or your friend.

High pressure vessels are not something to be taken lightly!!!

I sure as heck wouldn't come on a bulletin board and announce to the world that I was that careless.

    1) secure the tank so it CAN'T be knocked over.
    2) remove regulator and cap tank before unsecuring
    3) bring regulator to LWS and have them replace the gauge. They will also test the unit to be sure no intrnal damage to the regulator, and to be sure the high pressure gauge is still good. They can take a good bit of abuse, but....
    4) secure the tank

Oh, and, by the way, you should really secure the tank.
