    old style pull starter.

After the plastic recoil starter on Dad’s diesel broke (why they made it plastic I will never know) I welded this up.

I took an old pulley, cut a “V” in it at 45, and welded it onto the old recoil stub that bolts onto the engine. Works great, even better than the old recoil.

It's a Dek. 3.8HP with strait pipe exhaust.
We are going to change it over to bio diesel and run a gen off of it. then it would be the ultimate "porta-power"...

    OK, here are some more.

    Yup it's a 1965 110, fully restored. little brother to my 1969 110.
We are fitting it with a gen as I said, so that big plate in front right now is for that, and we have the grill out for it's little oil change.

It's not the stock motor. It came with 8 HP Koler (which we still have as it goes with this tractor). But Dad always wanted a diesel tractor, so in went the Dek direct injection.

    Thanks for the compliments!

    Very nice conversion Tobias!
I have a 1972 110 and have always been amazed at how the 8 HP Kohler can pull just about anything that I've hooked to it even at idle speed, thanks to the variator transmisison I think.
I'm sure that the little diesel is capable of real work too. Have you pulled any implements with it?

Only if you count trailers. I had a chance to test my welds on my garden trailer... It can haul more than an El-chepo.

So why no muffler? I figured hearing protection would be required and sure enough your Dad's got um on in the pic! I wear um when cuttting since the deck bearings are on their way out on my mower.
