My Airco oxy/act regulators have been working since the 70's.

I was just quoted $65 each to rebuild my old Airco regulators. Guess I'll start shopping...

If they're good quality regulators, with heavy brass construction, I would consider having them rebuilt. $130 for a like-new set of good regulators isn't so bad.

I have an old Airco regulator and torch set, and I think it's great.

Among all of the torch and regulator repair guys that I have spoken to in the past 40 years,it has been the general concensus that the piggy back style Airco is as close to bullet proof as any 2-stage industrial regulator on the market could ever be.I believe this is the regulator that I was told that when the seats wear out in 25,30 years, you just flip them over and they are good for another 25,30 years. If this is the stly regulator that you have, the price you were quoted are a steal and I would surely go for it.I did check with airgas a year or 2 ago and thier list price just on the regulators was over $300.00 each.I have been hording a brand new Airco/Concoa Super Master set, that includes thier best large 2-stage regulators, hose, corncob handled torch, cut attachement, brazing tips, rosebud and spare cutting tips. When I bought it,the Airgas list price was near $1,100.00 for the kit.If any one is interested,I would take $500.00 for the whole outfit and it has never been out of the original box.Any high end,2-stage outfit, nowdays,is going to creep near that $1,000 dollar mark for a complete kit like this.I have included a link to an ebay auction that displays the style of regulator that I am talking about.
