    Millermatic 200 ?

I have a chance to get a very lightly used 1987 Millermatic 200 with the optional spot off/on, pulser, & burnback controls. I need information as to how good of a welder is was/is and if it's a good one as far as arc quality goes, then how much is it worth concidering it is in very good condition? The guy also has a 1987 Dialarc HF in the same condition but no way could I power it. Any information anyone can provide will help greatly, thanks.
    Regards, George

George, I 've never ran one myself, but it seems to be the standard that all others are judge by, meaning its one of the better performers of all time. Understand, that the MM 200 output (voltage and amperage) wise falls in the MM 251 category.

George, I do a have a B-day come up here shortly.
MigMaster 250- Smooth arc with a good touch of softness to it. Good weld puddle wetout. Light spatter producer.

    George,
it runs somewhat like a Migmaster 250. A bit different arc but It's very nice in it's own right. Is it a black faced unit?? I would personally keep it over a 251. In fact I would not be looking for any other 250 mig if I owned it. They will pull a pretty good penny on E-bay. If it's in nice shape I could see it going for what you could buy a new 210 for. Rough shape they seem to pull $800.00 all day long. The one I used had a old worn out gun and was beat up good. You could still tell it was nice. It will spray way better then your 210.

    Hi,
I have a Millermatic 200 and have had it since new with the spot weld attachment. Never have used the spot weld. Welds everything I need to weld. Good machine and never have had a problem. Run it most of the time in the low range with .035 wire. Have a spool gun for it also. Mine has the 14 pin connector.

Back in the late 80's, during my college years, I logged quite a few hours in on the TIG/stick unit. Real nice unit, pretty power hungry though.

That MM 200 looks to be in near mint condition. If it lives up to the rep that the unit has, you may have to find a new home for the MM 210 after all.

It all kinda depends on what the owner wants for it and that I won't know till sometime next week. If I got it I would need to upgrade my input as right now I have 10ga and a 30 amp breaker and I think it needs 8ga and a 50 amp breaker to run on 230V. I do have a good friend who lives near where it is and is needing a machine for his shop, if he gets it then I could use it whenever I am up there, which is often in the summer.

    Dan ... I know when your B-day is, but I won't tell if you don't .

Hey Sundown, I have that EXACT same welder you are looking at, SKP35 panel and all. I bought mine from Roush racing when they downsized , and didn't need the welder anymore. I bought it over 3 years ago, and wouldn't trade it for anything. I paid $950 for mine without a gas tank. That MM200 can literally weld thin sheet all the way up to 1/2inch with ease! You'll love that SKP35 panel. To me that has got to be the best part about the machine, not sure why miller doesn't offer those controls on their newer machicnes that aren't in the 300amp class. My LWS says he gets people almost weekly coming in asking where they can get a used MM200 from. My guess is when I decide to sell mine it won't be at a loss(which will be never ) .
