I need to be able to roll my welders around the shop to use them in my new space. Rather than hard wire more outlets in, I'd rather just get a big old J-cord and make an extension cord. I've got a Dynasty 300DX and a 350P; how thick should I get if I want 50 ft. of cord? Also, where's a good place to order this stuff?
With figuring that duty cycle and rated outputs will roughly cancel each other out, you're looking at more than 60A of ampacity at rated output with the 350P. I'd use a #6 SJOOW service cord if at all available.
If you know you're always on the lighter side of the machine's capabilities while at that distance, you could probably survive on a #8, IMHO.
